How we price pins

Every figure below comes from completed marketplace sales recorded on the Flow blockchain (in DUC, 1:1 with USD). Nothing is estimated from listings, offers or off-chain drops. Numbers refresh within minutes of a sale.

PV — Pinsider Value

The site's market value for an edition: what buyers are actually paying now, with a reality check against what is sitting unsold.

Step 1, the sales level. The median sale price of the last 30 days, with serials #1–#10 excluded (premium serials trade far above the rest and would drag an average up). If fewer than 3 such sales exist, the window widens to 90 days, then to the edition's last 7 sales. A median ignores a single outlier in either direction.

Step 2, the floor cap. If the lowest active asking price has sat unsold for 3 days or more, PV cannot exceed it: a price nobody takes is the market's verdict, whatever older sales say. The deal card tells you which of the two set the value.

PV is what the deal badge and the “Best deals” ranking compare against. With only one or two sales, treat it with caution and check the “sales tracked” count.

✦ Deal badge and Best deals

A listing gets the gold badge when its asking price is at least 10% below PV. The percentage is the discount to PV; hover or tap the badge for every number behind it. Because PV is capped by a stale floor, a listing that has been the cheapest for days is not a “deal”: it is the price. The badge is for listings that undercut what the market is paying right now.

“Best deals” on the Marketplace ranks every active listing of the last 60 days by that discount. Active means: not sold, not delisted, and the pin still sits in the seller's wallet. The ranking refreshes every few minutes.

ASP — average sale price

The plain average of every sale ever recorded for the edition. It moves slowly and includes premium serials, so it can sit above or below today's market. Shown for context and used for the “Value (ASP)” estimate of collections.

Recent avg (5)

The average of the last 5 sales, all serials included. Quicker than ASP, but one premium-serial sale can lift it: that is why PV uses a median instead.

7-day low and last sale

The lowest sale price in the last 7 days, and the most recent sale. Both are shown in the deal card so you can see whether the market is moving.

LA — last ask, and the floor

LA is the most recent asking price for the edition. The cyan dot next to a price marks the floor: the lowest active ask for that edition right now (a listing counts as active only while it is unsold, not delisted, and the pin still sits in the seller's wallet). The deal card shows how many days the floor has been waiting. Collection values labelled “Low Ask” use the floor of each edition held.

What is not counted

Pin-for-pin trades (no price), primary drop and capsule purchases (settled off-chain), and listings that were never sold. A delisted-then-relisted pin counts as one listing at its latest price.
